A seahorse silhouette filled with real shell photographs — many collected by Jenell and her Gram on beach walks over the years. Paul photographed each shell with the same meticulous care he brings to all his work, and the result is something genuinely unique: a coastal keepsake built from real memories.

The image was photographed by Paul Shepard — Jenell's grandfather and a self-taught photographer in his 80s who mastered the art of focus stacking, compositing dozens of individual shots taken at different focal points into a single image with extraordinary depth and detail. He even set up a full photography studio in his off-grid log cabin to pursue it. Every puzzle in Paul's collection is a collaboration across three generations: Paul photographs, Marni and Jenell cut.
